Terrestar Solutions

Terrestar Solutions Inc. is the only Canadian-controlled mobile satellite operator engaged in the race to bring direct-to-device satellite services to smartphones and IoT devices and make anywhere-in-Canada communication a reality. Terrestar is committed to nurturing the ever-evolving, standards-based and open network ecosystem, enabling Mobile Network Operators to deliver ubiquitous communication services. Thanks to the Echostar T1 satellite, its ground network infrastructure and 40 MHz of S-band mobile-satellite spectrum, Terrestar connects Canadians from almost anywhere in the country, even in Canada’s most remote regions, through its Strigo Mobile Satellite Service (MSS). The Strigo service also supports non-profit and First Nations organizations, a testament to the Company’s powerful sense of responsibility toward the welfare and progress of the communities it serves.

Terrestar Solutions provides Hybrid IoT, a connectivity service that extends IoT coverage beyond traditional cellular networks by combining terrestrial and satellite access through one SIM, one plan, and one management platform. Built on open, standards-based 3GPP NTN architecture, Hybrid IoT is designed for sectors operating in rural, remote, and hard-to-reach areas where coverage, resilience, and remote visibility are critical. Transportation and logistics, mining and construction, energy, utilities and environmental monitoring, agriculture, livestock and public safety are just some examples of the industries that have been hampered by connectivity constraints and where Hybrid IoT solutions become a critical asset.

In addition, Terrestar offers Strigo mobile satellite communications and is developing future direct-to-mobile services for smartphones.
