London (11 February 2026): The IoT M2M Council (IMC), the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to the IoT sector worldwide with 28,000 qualified IoT adopters as rank-and-file members, has named Carmen Redondo, Director of Global Marketing at KYOCERA AVX, as its new chair for 2026. The motion took place at the group’s annual meeting at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (USA). Redondo has been active in the IMC leadership as the group’s Vice Chair for the last year, and the position of Vice Chair will now be assumed by Larry Tichavsky, who is Senior Manager, IoT Technical, Americas, at Vodafone IoT.
“Today, It is rare to find products that are not connected,” says Redondo, “the IMC’s task now, as an industry accelerator, is to make sure that IoT connectivity is understood. Just some of the hot-button issues in front of us include standardization with emerging eSIM and iSIM protocols, the convergence that comes with combining cellular, low-power, and satellite technologies, and of course, the overarching issue of IoT cybersecurity.”
In her current role as Director of Global Marketing for Antennas at KYOCERA AVX, Redondo leads the global implementation of strategic programs and projects, oversees new product development, and is accountable for revenue growth and go-to-market initiatives. She has more than 15 years of experience applying antenna technology in applications as far afield as automotive and medical devices, including previous positions as a general manager and design engineer at Ethertronics and Flextronics. With the IMC, Redondo has already taken a lead role in the group’s increased presence at the embedded world exhibitions and the creation of vertical-market microsites on social media platforms.
“We anticipate the IMC making new cybersecurity announcements in the coming months – we consider the subject to be existential for the IoT industry. We’ll also continue to evaluate how we’re building awareness of the latest advancements in technology and applications. I look forward to working with Larry and the Vodafone IoT team, as well as all of our IMC board companies, to bring important messages forward,” says, Redondo.
