Vodafone is offering clothing retailers in Qatar a smart fitting room based around an IoT digital mirror using technology from Spanish systems specialist JogoTech.

Using its network and IoT expertise, Vodafone Qatar will offer retailers the digital fitting room – JogoRoom – which links a retailer’s web presence to its physical stores.

The digital fitting room has been designed around an IoT digital mirror, which allows a shopper to scan the barcode on clothes tags in the fitting room and then contact shop floor staff directly from the mirror, through a digital watch, to request different sizes or colours. The mirror will also suggest additional clothes to complement the original choice and the items added to the shopping cart can be paid for from the shopper’s mobile without the need to leave the fitting room.

Moreover, the JogoRoom provides retailers with analytics, stock control and in-store management facilities, such as the ability to assign requests from the fitting rooms to different zones on the shop floor, or to different assistants’ digital watches.

“Our partnership with JogoTech reflects our commitment to pioneer digital innovation in Qatar and to help businesses succeed in a digital world,” said Mahday Saad Al Hebabi, Vodafone Qatar business services director. “In the competitive retail industry, the ability to deepen engagement with customers, cross-sell, speed-up the in-store experience and optimise business operations could be transformative for any retailer.”

The digital fitting room was experienced by thousands of visitors at Vodafone’s pavilion during last month’s Qitcom show in Doha, the largest information and communications showcase in Qatar. Major retailers including Mango, Zara and Massimo Dutti have already rolled out the digital fitting rooms in several of their flagship stores across the world.

“We are proud to partner with Vodafone Qatar on supporting the retail industry in Qatar to thrive,” said Gonzalo Martín, JogoTech CEO. “We were delighted for the opportunity to showcase the digital fitting room during Qitcom 2019 that demonstrated how a retailer’s digital and physical presence seamlessly come together.

Vodafone Qatar provides a range of services including voice, messaging, data, fixed communications, IoT and ICT managed services in the country for consumers and businesses.
