Socket Mobile’s SocketScan S721 and S741 barcode scanners have gained Shopify integration, allowing retailers to use Bluetooth Low Energy technology for point-of-sale and inventory management.

The update utilises Socket Mobile’s CaptureSDK to enable high-performance data capture across the Shopify ecosystem. The scanners are designed to maintain wireless connectivity throughout the day while supporting specialised workflows such as age verification and identity validation.

Dave Holmes, Chief Business Officer at Socket Mobile, said the expansion is an important step for merchants seeking to improve reliability. He stated that the addition of these scanners allows Shopify users to support a broader range of applications, including ID verification, through modern scanning technology.

The S721 model provides everyday scanning for 1D and 2D barcodes across various formats. It features an extended range and Bluetooth LE connectivity for warehouses and retail counters. The S741 is optimised for small or damaged barcodes and supports OCR formats. This allows for the scanning of passports and driver’s licenses. Both devices are compatible with over a thousand business applications through the CaptureSDK.
