Greek retail chain Hellenic Hypermarkets Sklavenitis is rolling out Hanshow electronic shelf labels (ESLs) across its 460 stores.
With a broad product assortment and high store traffic, simplifying internal processes and maintaining operational consistency are critical priorities for the smooth and reliable operation of its stores. This is where Chinese firm Hanshow’s technology comes in, helping turn operational complexity into consistent store-level execution, enhancing operational performance, supporting team efficiency and ultimately delivering a more reliable and trusted experience for shoppers.
To support these priorities, Sklavenitis has initiated a nationwide ESL rollout in partnership with Hanshow, deploying ESLs at scale across its stores. The rollout will standardise Hanshow’s Nebular Ultra ESL series across the store network.
Featuring centimetre-level, accurate shelf intelligence, Nebular Ultra enables precise product placement and shelf-level visibility, supporting planogram execution and operational management at scale. Beyond immediate operational benefits, the deployment also establishes a digital shelf infrastructure capable of supporting future in-store innovations.
Combined with technologies such as computer vision and smart shopping carts, the high-precision shelf framework can enable automation, real-time shelf monitoring and data-driven retail applications as part of Sklavenitis’ broader digital transformation.
“As grocery retail becomes increasingly complex and regulated, leading retailers like Sklavenitis are rethinking the role of in-store infrastructure,” said Liangyan Li, senior vice president at Hanshow (www.hanshow.com). “This collaboration is about building a digital foundation that supports accuracy, efficiency and long‑term adaptability, and our role is to enable that strategy at scale.”
As well as the stores, Sklavenitis (www.sklavenitis.gr) operates distribution centres and e-market facilities nationwide. Its serves more than 680,000 customers daily.

• Hanshow has launched xPilot, a one‑stop, real-time intelligent execution assistant for physical retail. It is said to mars a step in store digitalisation, helping retailers move from seeing data to turning data into timely, intelligent action. Built on an open, cloud‑native architecture, xPilot aggregates data into a real-time digital representation of each store, including a live 3D digital twin that reflects operational conditions. The assistant automatically detects and quantifies high-impact exceptions such as out-of-shelf situations and planogram non-‑compliance, while visualising task status and operational priorities.
