Automotive retailers across the USA will be able to track stolen vehicles following a partnership between smart label company Reelables and US finance and insurance firm Triple Protection Auto Care (TriPac).
The Anywhere label technology forms an affordable vehicle theft recovery method for automotive retailers and consumers nationwide. It is a printable active smart label for tracking cargo and inventory.
TriPac has expertise in automotive product development, proprietary technology, regulatory compliance, administration and distribution. The Anywhere label platform enables wireless recovery by combining intelligent design with connectivity to deliver practical applications across multiple industries, especially automotive retail.
As vehicle theft continues to impact consumers and dealerships across the USA, both organisations share a vision of delivering innovative technologies that provide meaningful protection while improving dealership efficiency and affordability. The partnership represents an important milestone for Reelables as it enters one of the world’s largest automotive retail markets through a company with an established national distribution network.
The Reelables labels emit a secure, encrypted signal detected by partner devices – smartphones, access points, IoT infrastructure and vehicle telematics systems – and relayed to the cloud. Cellular-enabled labels can also be located via cellular networks.
The combination of the Reelables Anywhere label and TriPac’s BluSignal (tripac.inc/products/blusignal/) vehicle theft recovery process provides dealerships with a discreet and scalable way to eliminate many of the costs and operational challenges associated with traditional hard-wired GPS devices and OBD-II-based recovery systems. The technology enables participating recovery networks to assist in locating stolen vehicles throughout the country without requiring expensive installations or intrusive vehicle modifications.
For automotive retailers, the label simplifies implementation by integrating easily into dealership sales and delivery workflows while reducing installation labour, inventory complexity and overall programme costs. For consumers, it provides an affordable vehicle theft recovery method at a time when rising vehicle theft has created increased demand for practical, value-driven protection products.
TriPac was selected as Reelables’ preferred US automotive channel distributor based on its more than two decades in automotive product innovation and its ability to develop, launch, administer and support technology-driven protection products throughout the USA.
Since its founding in 2001, TriPac has earned a reputation as one of the automotive industry’s most innovative product development organisations. Rather than developing one-size-fits-all products, TriPac takes a craftsmanship approach to product innovation by researching market trends, consumer behaviour, regulatory requirements and dealership workflows before designing products that deliver measurable value throughout the automotive retail ecosystem.
The addition of Reelables’ Anywhere label technology expands TriPac’s portfolio of automotive protection products and reinforces its commitment to bringing transformative technologies to its dealer partners nationwide.
“Reelables has developed a truly transformative technology that represents the future of affordable vehicle theft recovery,” said Glen Tuscan, CEO of TriPac (tripac.inc). “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to delivering innovative technologies that create measurable value for our dealer partners while providing consumers with affordable, highly effective theft recovery. We believe the Anywhere label will redefine how dealerships approach vehicle theft protection and further strengthen the customer ownership experience.”
Aaron Kim, vice president at Reelables, added: “Our expansion into the US automotive market marks an exciting new chapter for Reelables.”
Reelables (reelables.com) is headquartered in London and backed by Silicon Labs, Moneta, Raptor Group, Smooth Brain, Amigos Ventures, Y Combinator and 500S.
