Instacart has acquired Instaleap, a global enablement and fulfilment platform, to help the company scale its online grocery technologies for retailers outside North America.
Instaleap currently operates in nearly 30 countries across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, serving approximately 100 grocery retailers including Lulu, SPAR, and Cencosud. The platform manages the digital commerce lifecycle, including order management, picking, and logistics. Instaleap will initially operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart.
The Storefront Pro platform powers digital grocery programmes for over 380 retail banners. Carrot Ads provides retail media technology for more than 310 partners to scale advertising revenue. Caper Carts are AI-powered smart carts currently launching in the UK and Australia. FoodStorm manages end-to-end orders for grocery perimeter departments. Instaleap has powered more than 100 million transactions to date.
Ryan Hamburger, Chief Commercial Officer at Instacart, said the acquisition provides a meaningful opportunity to expand through an enterprise-led strategy. He stated that by adding Instaleap’s technology and retail relationships, Instacart can better serve retailers and consumers globally.
Instacart partners with more than 2,200 retail banners representing nearly 100,000 stores. Antonio dos Santos Nunes, CEO and Co-founder of Instaleap, said joining Instacart enables the company to scale its impact with a partner committed to retailer success. The acquisition reinforces Instacart’s focus on providing integrated solutions for global grocery transactions.
