Taiwanese AIoT company Advantech has introduced flush-mounting industrial touch monitors for integration into kiosks and self-service point-of-sale applications.

The XDF-31 Flex series of industrial-grade high-resolution LED touchscreen monitors are for use in various retail, gaming and transportation applications such as point of sales terminals, customer ticket kiosks, information systems and infotainment. They are said to offer better performance, reliability and a more professional design than consumer-grade monitors or panel PCs.

The open-frame, low-power HD LED touchscreen monitors come in screen sizes from 25.6 to 81.3cm. They have been designed with ease of integration into the user’s housing as a priority.

Side mounting brackets and an application-specific gasket simplify the task of safely mounting the monitor into the application, ensuring complete flush mounting with the surrounding surface. The edge-to-edge finish ensures the housing has a sleek, stylish and aesthetically pleasing look and feel.

The flat thin monitors have a ten-point projected capacitive (PCAP) touch controller that provides an immersive and interactive user experience, including gesture support, and is accessed via a USB interface.

Multiple input options include VGA, DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces, giving kiosk and system designers options when developing self-service terminals or swapping out monitors in existing equipment. Ease of integration is simplified by the low-power monitors requiring a single 12V DC external power adapter, while the 81.3cm monitor has an internal AC/DC power supply.
