The DS-015 from Taiwanese firm Advantech is a slim edge AI computing platform built for betting and lottery kiosks, as well as retail and fast-food self-service deployments.

Based on Nvidia’s Jetson Orin and NX, it delivers up to 157Tops of AI performance to accelerate real-time computer vision, transaction verification workflows and on-device analytics, supporting faster service, improved operational reliability and enhanced customer engagement.

Kiosk operators are under pressure to reduce wait times during peak demand while improving security and personalisation. This platform provides the compute headroom to run multiple AI workloads locally, reducing latency and dependence on cloud connectivity.

Typical AI-enabled use cases include: facial recognition and identity-related workflows where permitted by policy and regulation; fraud detection and anomaly monitoring; customer behaviour analysis and operational insights; and personalised content delivery and targeted promotions at the point of service.

Designed for space-limited cabinets and enclosures, it has a slim chassis with a smart fan thermal design to sustain performance in continuous operation environments. Flexible Vesa mounting options support installation inside kiosk cabinets, under counters or on walls to enable clean, repeatable builds across multiple kiosk models and deployment sites. Optional cable and adapter management helps reduce clutter, improve serviceability and simplify maintenance.

Kiosks handling financial transactions and personal information require strong platform protections. This platform is engineered with built-in security capabilities to support secure deployment practices, including hardware TPM for secure key and credential storage, secure boot to help ensure system integrity, and remote monitoring and device management support to reduce on-site service requirements and enable scalable operations.

To accelerate implementation and standardise deployment across Jetson-based platforms, it supports Advantech’s edge AI SDK and inference kit, providing a consistent development environment with tools such as real-time system monitoring, performance benchmarks, and AI inference examples and validation workflows.

This should help developers and system integrators shorten integration cycles and deploy edge AI applications more efficiently.

Rich IO allows for seamless integration with kiosks and peripherals. The 4K display output and GMSL camera support vision-driven applications.
