Körber Supply Chain has announced a partnership with HH Stainless to implement an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) at the latter’s Singapore facility. The project is designed to manage long-length stainless steel pipes and industrial fittings.

The automation solution focuses on a vertical storage design using a compact honeycomb structure. This configuration is intended to increase storage density and reduce the physical footprint required for HH Stainless’s inventory, which currently exceeds 12,000 tonnes.

Technical features of the Singapore installation include:

  • Stacker crane equipped with a single load handling device for long products
  • K.OneX warehouse control software for real-time inventory visibility
  • Integrated warehouse management system for retrieval sequencing
  • Local technical support and maintenance provided by Körber’s Singapore team

Louis Kok, head of marketing and sales for Körber’s supply chain business in Singapore, said the system is tailored to reduce labour costs by minimising manual handling and walking distances within the warehouse. The ASRS is engineered to handle heavy industrial cassettes used for pipes, flanges, and bars.

HH Stainless, established in 1964, is a regional importer and stockist of stainless steel materials. The company stated that the transition to an automated system is a foundational step in supporting its operational growth and efficiency goals in the Southeast Asian market.
