French IoT company Kerlink has developed a traceability and monitoring product for all freight activity.

Working with Europorte, a French private rail freight operator and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Getlink group, Kerlink has developed Track Value, a traceability and monitoring option for road, rail, air and sea freight activities.

This is the first industrial application dedicated to the freight and logistics sector to incorporate data transmission via Kinéis space connectivity. Track Value is scheduled to go on sale in the third quarter of 2024.

“We are delighted with this innovative partnership, which will enable us to provide a precise response to the need to secure goods being transported,” said Raphaël Doutrebente, chairman of Europorte (www.europorte.com). “With Track Value, Europorte is providing for all customers in the transport logistics sector.”

Benefits for users include a low environmental footprint for data transmission.

“Kinéis’ space connectivity is now an established and essential offering in the IoT market,” said Alexandre Tisserant, chairman of Kinéis (www.kineis.com). “This partnership with Europorte and Kerlink for the Track Value illustrates the close links we are developing with industrial players in all sectors.”

Today’s road, rail, air and sea transport operators are faced with an increase in trade and must guarantee the safety of their goods and reduce the impact of their transport on the environment. This partnership brings together a wide range of expertise and has led to the creation of Track Value.

It improves the management of flows by digitising multimodal transport activities. This digitisation improves the quality and reliability of services, thanks to data feedback and processing in near-real time from anywhere in the world.

Yannick Delibie, technical director of Kerlink (www.kerlink.com), said: “Kerlink’s teams have contributed their expertise in tailor-made IoT connectivity to develop Track Value and offer a genuine innovation to meet the challenge of more sustainable freight.”

The data collected by Track Value guarantee goods security in near real time. It can detect and send alerts for flow disruptions, equipment and infrastructure failures, and it anticipates maintenance operations.
