Canadian retailer Loblaw is scaling vision AI across multiple yards and distribution centres to improve gate operations.
It is using technology from fellow Canadian company Eaigle, building on early results in reducing processing times, enhancing the driver experience and increasing data accuracy at the gate and in the yard.
The expanded rollout of AI-powered gate automation technology is designed to improve efficiency and visibility across yard and distribution operations.
Eaigle’s Avac technology helps automate routine gate processes, improving visibility and supporting more efficient movement of vehicles through distribution centres.
“We’re always looking for practical ways to improve how products move through our network so we can better serve our customers,” said Wael Yehia, vice president at Loblaw (www.loblaw.ca). “Working with Canadian innovators like Eaigle allows us to leverage technologies that can help improve efficiency, support our operations teams and keep products moving reliably across our network.”
Supply chains today face increasing pressure to operate with precision, speed, security and resilience. Gate operations play a critical role in maintaining that balance. Eaigle’s approach applies vision AI to automate vehicle access control, capture critical data and enable real-time decision-making while reducing operational disruption and keeping essential goods flowing.
“This is about scaling what works in real operations, a practical and measurable use of applied AI in supply chains,” said Amir Hoss, CEO at Eaigle. “It should strengthen existing workflows, not replace them. What we’re seeing with Loblaw is a clear example of how vision AI can be deployed at scale to improve consistency, throughput and visibility across facilities.”
Eaigle’s platform uses computer vision to validate vehicles and capture freight data in real time. This tech-first approach integrates seamlessly with existing WMS, TMS, YMS and ERP systems, turning the distribution gate into a source of live intelligence rather than a point of delay.
Eaigle (www.eaigle.com) is a computer vision and data orchestration platform for gate and yard automation. The company’s AI-native platform enables enterprises in the supply chain and logistics sectors to leverage vision data to address security, transportation and operational challenges.
