DPL tracker can be hidden on assets

California-based DPL Telematics has introduced a wireless monitoring and remote tracking system for powered or unpowered assets to improve logistics, manage inventory and reduce theft.
The AssetView Stealth is a small, portable GPS unit that is completely self-contained and may be hidden on any asset, installing in seconds.
It lets managers remotely monitor any asset accurately from a robust, internet-based software package and mobile app. There is no external wiring or antenna for quick, unwired attachment to any asset in a hide-and-track installation. Power comes from two user-replaceable AA lithium batteries. Power will last for up to ten years on daily updates or up to 2.5 years on more detailed tracking. Low power notifications remotely alert users if the batteries get low so they know when to replace them, well in advance of depletion.
A waterproof IP68 and IK07 design allows deployment in harsh environments. It has tip and impact detection with immediate notifications of potential safety issues or asset abuse.
Complete GNSS coverage means faster, more accurate locations by using all five satellite constellations. Global cellular coverage lets assets be tracked across borders.
It is available on a month-to-month agreement, so there is no long-term contract; it can be deactivated and reactivated anytime without penalty.
The AssetView Stealth (www.dpltelematics.com/assetviewstealth) combines multiple technologies to increase battery life while operating and remaining active in extremely low power modes. The tamper detection feature lets the device notify via text and email alerts along with its mapped location as soon as it is removed from its place of installation.
Proprietary TruTrace adaptive tracking technology increases the device’s reporting frequency when movement is detected and automatically reduces it when stationary. This actively alerts on curfew violation, movement or geofence breach as well as allowing the user to switch to recovery mode over the air.
“We are excited to introduce the fourth member of our revolutionary AssetView family of devices,” said Tony Nicoletti, CEO at DPL Telematics. “The Stealth is the first tracker of its kind to offer such a large combination of technologies in a simple final product, delivering long battery life without sacrificing two-way communication and real time alerts. Coupled with intelligent device tamper detection, customers know immediately if the unit is moved along with a mapped location of the alert. It is a new layer of security built into an easy-to-use tracker for any asset to decrease loss exposure and better manage inventories.”
He said since it had marginal install time and uses readily available AA batteries, users could easily replace them anytime they are alerted that its power is getting low.
“Its small size and affordable price point allow anybody to easily track nearly anything, regardless of its power source,” he added. “Customers control their monthly subscription with the option to deactivate and reactivate as needed without penalty, which is ideal for seasonal or demand-based usage.”
DPL Telematics (www.dpltel.com) provides asset monitoring and telemetry technologies for the construction, mining, rail, service, transportation and oilfield industries. With over 23 years of experience and an excess of $1bn in customer mobile assets trusted to it, the company delivers a suite of monitoring options with a global reach.
