Descartes Systems has introduced a suite of AI agents to automate freight visibility and documentation workflows. The system, named MacroPoint OpsForce, is designed to reduce manual intervention in tracking shipments across multimodal logistics networks.

The company reported that the AI agents have connected more than 435,000 additional drivers to its Global Logistics Network (GLN) through 720,000 automated outreaches. The technology targets common logistics failures, such as tracking drops and missing proof-of-delivery (POD) documents.

The new system allows for a 30% average increase in no-touch tracking automation, and a 1.5x productivity gain for freight tracking teams. It also provides a 15% faster settlement through automated POD capture, and elimination of up to 100% of manual check calls for some users.

Dan Cicerchi, general manager of transportation management at Descartes, said the AI agents are programmed to restore failed tracking sessions and confirm arrival milestones when geofence data is uncertain. The system is intended to help brokers and shippers meet visibility mandates without increasing headcount.

Descartes MacroPoint connects to hundreds of thousands of carriers globally. The company stated that the use of agentic AI strengthens the data foundation required for supply chain decision-making by ensuring real-time information is clean and formatted for enterprise systems.
