Maryland-based DecisionPoint Technologies has acquired American Barcode & RFID (AB&R), a provider of RFID, data capture and IoT products that help organisations identify, track and manage inventory and assets throughout the supply chain.

With this acquisition, DecisionPoint has strengthened its RFID capabilities and expanded its ability to help customers automate data capture, increase operational accuracy, and gain real-time visibility into inventory, assets and workflows across complex enterprise environments.

Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, AB&R has spent more than four decades helping organisations leverage barcode, RFID and related technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and operational performance. It has built a strong reputation for delivering RFID, barcode, labelling, software and professional services that help customers identify, track and manage inventory and assets across complex supply chain environments.

“The way organisations capture, track and act on data across their operations is changing rapidly, and RFID is becoming a foundational technology for improving visibility, automation and operational accuracy,” said Brian Bukowski, CEO of DecisionPoint Technologies (www.decisionpt.com). “AB&R has built an outstanding reputation helping customers apply RFID and IoT technologies to solve complex business challenges. Their expertise, customer relationships, and proven track record make them a natural fit for DecisionPoint as we continue expanding our capabilities in RFID, software and services that help organisations modernise their operations.”

Gary Randall, vice president of AB&R (abr.com), added: “Joining DecisionPoint creates an exciting opportunity to expand the value we deliver to customers while building on the trusted relationships and technical expertise AB&R has developed over more than four decades. Together, we will bring customers greater scale, expanded resources and a broader portfolio to help improve visibility, accuracy and performance across their operations.”

Through its Phoenix-based operations, AB&R expands DecisionPoint’s geographic footprint by adding established customer relationships and technical capabilities across key regions throughout the USA.

Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, DecisionPoint has offices across the USA and Canada.
