Indian smart meter firm Genus Power has announced that it has surpassed 26 million smart meter deployments worldwide. The milestone includes the installation of more than 10 million smart meters as part of India’s national grid modernisation programme.

The company operates six integrated manufacturing facilities in India with a combined annual capacity exceeding 18 million meters. These facilities, located in Jaipur, Haridwar, Guwahati, and Kotputli, include automated SMT lines and advanced testing infrastructure for international compliance.

Jitendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Managing Director of Genus Power, said the milestone reflects the transition of global power systems toward digital, data-driven grids. The company provides an integrated portfolio including smart electricity, gas, and water meters, as well as Meter Data Management (MDM) platforms.

Genus Power maintains an international footprint across Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the SAARC markets. The company is currently integrating AI initiatives into its manufacturing and AMI operations to improve loss detection, billing efficiency, and asset performance management.
