Xthings has launched X Tower, a fully autonomous smart tower featuring physical AI designed for proactive public safety in environments such as industrial hubs, campuses, and transit centres without requiring connection to a power grid or wired network.

The X Tower functions as a self-contained AIoT platform combining 360-degree 4K UHD cameras with high-resolution radar for sensor fusion. An edge-based AI engine analyses movement and classifies risks locally, identifying high-risk activities such as intrusion or robbery. By processing data at the edge, the system maintains operational resilience and privacy while providing real-time alerts to command centres.

“X Tower doesn’t just record what happened. It understands behaviour in real time, classifies risk locally at the edge, and enables early intervention,” said Raj Sundar, Senior Director of Product Management at Xthings. He added that the system can be deployed within days.

The tower uses four 4K UHD cameras for true 360-degree coverage. High-resolution radar enables precise motion detection through radar and vision fusion. A 200W solar panel and lithium battery storage provide true off-grid operation. Connectivity is managed via 4G/LTE or optional wired Ethernet. The architecture is NDAA-compliant and allows for rapid installation.

Xthings positions the X Tower as a replacement for reactive surveillance systems that depend on manual activation. The tower integrates with the company’s broader ecosystem of access control and biometric solutions. Beyond security, the platform can monitor environmental conditions and provide public mobile device charging, serving as a multi-functional piece of smart city infrastructure.
