WeRide is partnering Singapore sanitation firm Chye Thiam Maintenance to deploy WeRide Robosweepers in the city. The first batch of WeRide Robosweepers has arrived in Singapore and begun safety testing. Official operations are expected to begin by the end of 2024.
Singapore has tree-lined streets, many gardens, and a picturesque landscape. It has a reputation of a “Garden City.” WeRide and CTM will provide unmanned sanitation services to help maintain Singapore’s reputation as one of the cleanest cities in the world.
CTM is one of the largest cleaning and waste management companies in Singapore. It maintains long-term cooperative relationships with the Singapore government, entertainment and tourism industry.
Since September 2022, WeRide’s smart sanitation services have been rolled out in cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing. These have formed part of model projects for smart city development in these cities.
WeRide Robosweeper S6 features high-precision sensors and AI algorithms. It can perform various urban sanitation tasks such as road sweeping, water spraying, and disinfection. The Robosweeper can automatically detect road conditions, avoid pedestrians and obstacles. This helps ensure safe and reliable operation while enhancing cleaning efficiency.
The WeRide Robosweeper is powered by an all-electric drive system. This reduces carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 10,000 kilograms per month on average.
US-Chinese developer WeRide views Singapore as a strategic regional centre. It aims to collaborate with local partners, and from Singapore enter the south east Asian sanitation market.
