Seattle community non-profit Brighton Communities and BizzTech will implement an AI-powered digital twin in South Seattle’s Brighton neighbourhood. The initiative aims to support the city’s decarbonisation goals by integrating building systems, utilities, and IoT sensors into a real-time visualization platform.

The project utilises the NVIDIA Blueprint for smart city AI, incorporating NVIDIA Metropolis and NVIDIA Cosmos libraries. This connected platform provides a foundation for urban management by linking environmental sensors and mobility networks with predictive AI insights.

The Brighton digital twin will include: real-time photorealistic visualization of neighbourhood infrastructure; integration of NVIDIA Metropolis for video search and summarization (VSS); and monitoring of building emissions to support the Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS). It will provide spatial analytics for energy use, mobility data, and safety systems, and browser-based access requiring no local software installation.

Curtis Brown, Executive Director of Brighton Communities, said the partnership provides tools to understand how public spaces function, aiding decisions that support residents and environmental resilience. The Brighton community previously received a municipal grant to pilot decarbonisation strategies.

The project aligns with Seattle’s 2025–2027 IT Strategic Plan, which focuses on the responsible use of generative AI in public services. Collaborators on the project include Atlas Traffic Technologies, Circuit Meter, and Akila, focusing on achieving net-zero outcomes through spatial intelligence.
