Parsons has won a six-year, $60 million contract to design phase 2B2 of the Los Angeles Metro A Line Extension. The contract was awarded by the Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority, and will include design services during construction.
The Foothill Gold Line is part of the longest linear light rail line in the world.
The contract will complete the next segment of the Los Angeles Metro A Line light rail system by adding a 2.3-mile extension from Pomona to Claremont.
Parsons has been involved each phase of the project for over 25 years, with experience that includes over 10,000 miles of roadways and more than 450 rail and transit projects worldwide.
According to design plans, the new section will innovate to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. “We have a long history of improving connections between California communities through our work on public transportation projects,” said Parsons in a statement.
