San Francisco-based Ouster has announced that it doubled its software-attached bookings in 2025, driven by demand for lidar-powered perception in smart cities. The company has expanded its contracted deployments to more than 1,200 sites globally, covering 65 million square feet of infrastructure.
The company’s BlueCity traffic management solution is now deployed at nearly 700 sites, including major contracts in Nashville and Chattanooga. These systems use 3D digital lidar to provide real-time analytics for traffic signal actuation and congestion management.
BlueCity installations include a multi-million dollar contract for 100 intersections in Nashville, Tennessee and deployment at 40 highway sites in New Jersey for FIFA World Cup planning.
The company has built an AI model trained on 4 million objects across 800 diverse environments, and has launched a Gemini Cloud Portal for centralised management of thousands of sensors.
Angus Pacala, CEO of Ouster, said the growth reflects increasing enterprise demand for “Physical AI” to manage complex data in real time. The company’s software is built on the NVIDIA Metropolis ecosystem to provide edge processing for urban and industrial safety.
Ouster also signed a multi-million dollar agreement with LASE PeCo to deploy its Gemini software for crowd analytics and smart city applications in Europe. The company estimates the total market opportunity for smart infrastructure at $19 billion.
