The New Jersey Department of the Treasury has acquired multiple off-grid electric vehicle (EV) charging systems, known as EV ARC, from Beam Global. The purchase was made through a competitive public bid using a General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule Contract.
This is the third state division in New Jersey to deploy EV ARC systems, following prior deployments by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The systems will be used for workplace charging and energy security, generating and storing their own renewable electricity without relying on a utility grid connection.
Beam Global’s CEO Desmond Wheatley stated that “our EV ARC systems deliver dependable, off-grid electricity” and support continuity of operations by providing reliable, renewable energy where needed. He also noted the benefits of using the GSA contract to procure resilient EV charging infrastructure quickly and efficiently.
The EV ARC systems are designed to operate independently from the grid, allowing government agencies to maintain workplace charging and energy security during utility outages. They can be deployed rapidly without construction or trenching, reducing infrastructure costs and risks.
San Diego based Beam Global is a clean technology specialist that develops sustainable infrastructure products and technologies.
