The City of Dallas has placed its fourth order for solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging systems from Beam Global to support electrification of its municipal fleet. The order for ten EV ARC systems will be deployed in the third quarter of the year.

The EV ARC units are off-grid, transportable charging stations that do not require construction, trenching, or connection to the utility grid. Each system generates and stores its own renewable electricity, allowing for EV charging during grid outages or in locations where electrical infrastructure is unavailable.

Dallas has been incrementally expanding its use of these systems since April 2025. The purchase was made through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedule, which allows government entities to streamline the procurement of sustainable infrastructure.

The systems are designed to be rapidly deployed and can be relocated as the city’s fleet requirements change. By operating independently of the grid, the units avoid utility costs and provide operational resilience against geopolitical instabilities or energy shortages that may affect fuel prices.
