Derq and AT&T have entered a commercial collaboration to integrate AI-powered safety intelligence into urban transportation infrastructure. The agreement follows a strategic investment by AT&T in Derq in late 2024 and aims to provide real-time data for traffic management centres and connected vehicle applications.

Derq’s AI platform will provide data inputs for AT&T’s Intelligent Transportation Platform (ITP). The system detects and analyses roadway events including collisions, wrong-way driving, and road hazards such as debris or fire. It also monitors traffic patterns, speed, and congestion to support more proactive safety interventions.

The collaboration is designed to help transportation agencies manage complex mobility environments by connecting edge infrastructure with cloud-based data lakes. The integrated solution supports future Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) and Vehicle-to-Network (V2N) applications, which are essential for smart city development and autonomous vehicle integration.
