Smart city digital twin provider AMSYS has partnered lidar manufacturer Seyond to deploy image-grade lidar sensors across municipal infrastructure and transport hubs. The agreement focuses on scaling physical sensor networks to support real-time operational digital twins for smart city environments.

Under the agreement, AMSYS will serve as the distributor and systems integrator for Seyond’s sensor portfolio, which includes the Falcon, Robin, and Hummingbird lidar units.

AMSYS will manage the integration of digital twins, edge computing, and lifecycle support of the sensors. The integration will allow state and local governments to transition from a multi-vendor patchwork of cameras to a single, physical sensor-driven command layer.

Acting as a supporting layer to the hardware, the lidar data is processed through operational digital twin software, converting raw environmental scans into real-time operational metrics for facility managers.
