A new intelligent traffic policing robot has been deployed at a busy intersection in Wuhu. The humanoid robot, known as Intelligent Police Unit R001, is stationed on a traffic island and performs standardised hand signals to guide drivers.

According to AiMOGA Robotics, the company behind the robot, the deployment marks a shift towards using robots to support front-line officers in urban operations. The company says the robot can detect irregular behaviour and deliver polite prompts to drivers, helping to reduce physical strain on officers.

The Intelligent Police R001 is equipped with autonomous mobility, high-definition road monitoring, and multi-modal perception capabilities. It is integrated with urban signal systems to ensure seamless operation.

AiMOGA Robotics has deployed over 300 humanoid robots in more than 100 environments worldwide, including the European Union where they have been certified for both hardware and software. The company plans to continue developing the Intelligent Police series to support emergency coordination and public information services.

“We believe that real-world deployment is essential for achieving reliability,” said Zhang Guibing, General Manager of AiMOGA Robotics.
