Accton Technology, Synaptics, Gallopwave, and Hsuan Yuan Technology (HYTech) are partnering to collaborate on Edge AI technologies for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Principal applications will be emergency first responder roles, search-and-rescue and commercial delivery services.

The focus of development will be on “Edge AI,” which allows drones to process data locally on the device rather than relying on remote servers, reducing latency in decision-making.

The agreement establishes a framework for the four companies to evaluate technical collaboration and research opportunities. The partnership aims to combine wireless connectivity, navigation software, and onboard AI processing to support autonomous drone operations in real-world environments.

Gallopwave will provide positioning and navigation modules, while Synaptics will contribute compute and connectivity solutions. HYTech will be responsible for the UAV platform and system integration, including flight-control systems and hardware validation.

“Our focus is on bringing together the different components required to support reliable operation in real-world environments,” said Enco Liew, Vice President at Accton Technology.
