SoftBank Robotics America has launched a new suite of AI-enabled commercial cleaning robots. The expansion, conducted in partnership with Gausium, introduces advanced computer vision and 3D LiDAR technology to improve navigation in dynamic environments such as airports and retail spaces.
The new models are designed to operate with minimal human intervention, using vision-language models to improve spatial awareness and uptime. The company is positioning these autonomous systems as a solution for service industries facing a shrinking workforce pool.
The updated robotic portfolio includes: the Omnie robot, designed for scrubbing in large, high-traffic environments; the V40 2.0, an autonomous vacuum for medium-to-large indoor spaces, and Phantas 1.3, a compact unit for sweeping and light scrubbing in small-to-medium areas.
Brady Watkins, president and GM of SoftBank Robotics America, said the partnership with Gausium allows for more scalable outcomes in facility management. The robots are intended for use in senior living communities, hospitality, and aviation sectors.
SoftBank Robotics America, the North American division of SoftBank Robotics, acts as a robot integrator for various industries. The company stated that the new models feature improved localisation and smarter navigation compared to previous generations.
