Schneider Electric has unveiled an HVAC drive family to boost energy efficiency, reliability and smart building performance.
The Altivar ATH200 and ATH600 are engineered to deliver over 30% energy savings, improved system uptime and seamless integration into modern building management systems (BMS). The range is said to bring higher efficiency, smarter operation and built‑in protections for demanding HVAC applications.
The drives support environments from commercial buildings and OEM-built equipment to mission-critical facilities such as hospitals, airports and data centres. The line combines smart connectivity, protection features, compatibility with sustainable refrigerants, and cyber-security‑ready performance.
The ATH200 (www.se.com/us/en/product-range/363586604-altivar-hvac-ath200/) is optimised for OEMs and compact HVAC equipment, helping shorten engineering cycles while meeting sustainability standards. The ATH600 is for mission-critical and high-performance buildings that require advanced control, continuous operation and deeper system integration.
With HVAC systems playing an essential role in maintaining airflow, temperature stability and overall building performance, the family helps organisations ensure reliable operation across diverse conditions. Capable of operating from -10 to +60˚C, the drives can withstand mechanical, thermal, electrical and environmental stress. This ensures uninterrupted performance in demanding applications, from rooftop units to plant rooms and outdoor enclosures.
“With the Altivar HVAC drives, we are redefining what performance, reliability and security mean for modern HVAC infrastructure,” said Xiao HU, Schneider (www.se.com) senior vice president. “We engineered the range to support long-term sustainability and safety, from responsibly sourced materials to firmware upgradeability. These capabilities help customers reduce downtime, protect equipment and meet evolving energy and environmental regulations.”
The drives simplify installation with built-in electromagnetic compatibility filtering, integrated motor thermal protection and native Modbus and Bacnet communications, eliminating the need for external contactors and reducing wiring complexity. Their consistent 200mm cabinet size and use of Reach, RoHS and ASI-compliant materials support faster deployment and more sustainable building practices.
The drives offer IEC 62443‑4‑2 level one cyber-security certification, secure firmware integrity checks and upgradeable firmware. With A2L certification and A3 refrigerant readiness, they support low global warming potential and refrigerants used in modern chillers, heat pumps and HVAC systems.
They let OEMs and system integrators deliver smarter, more energy efficient HVAC equipment faster. With built-in application libraries and seamless integration into building automation, they reduce commissioning time, streamline design and ensure long-term operational performance.
