SmartThings, Samsung’s connected living platform, is working with Sapphire Connected Communities, a US enterprise software company that has built multifamily smart apartment technology on the SmartThings Pro B2B development platform.
By leveraging the power of SmartThings Pro, South Carolina-based Sapphire can offer apartment residents a familiar and feature-rich experience through the SmartThings app, while delivering integrated management for property managers that improves operating efficiency across an entire portfolio of properties.
“Together, SmartThings and Sapphire will redefine the apartment living experience,” said Mark Benson, head of SmartThings in the USA. “We’re not just offering a product, we’re delivering a lifestyle upgrade that enhances convenience, efficiency and peace of mind for both residents and property managers.”
With SmartThings Pro, SmartThings introduces a platform for enterprises (developer.smartthings.com/docs/enterprise/get-started/introduction) that builds on the strengths of the SmartThings ecosystem, offering tools and capabilities for developing integrated, business-critical applications. The platform can accelerate the development of applications in B2B sectors such as multifamily housing, vacation rentals, hospitality and healthcare, while also catering to consumer demand for a seamless, efficient and scalable smart home experience.
Sapphire is the first multifamily residential offering to leverage this platform, enabling it to offer its multifamily customers a standards-based, integrated product that leverages the reliability, security and global brand power of Samsung, with the capabilities available with SmartThings Pro, such as smart appliance diagnostics and asset management.
“Our partnership with SmartThings represents a significant milestone in delivering a cost-effective, reliable smart apartment,” said Eric DeJesus, director of operations at Sapphire. “By leveraging the power of SmartThings, we will provide a platform that not only enhances the resident experience but is more cost effective, providing users with a return on their investment in technology they will use daily. This partnership underscores our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.”
Millions of people in nearly 200 countries use SmartThings (www.samsung.com/us/smartthings) to control their connected homes and IoT devices. SmartThings delivers across Samsung’s portfolio of phones, TVs and appliances.
Sapphire Connected Communities (www.sapphireconnect.io) brings the power of Samsung to the multifamily market. Sapphire provides enterprise smart apartment software to manage and deploy smart technology at scale. Residents have access to SmartThings’ ecosystem of smart devices. Sapphire’s platform is the B2B layer for the multifamily market that enables property managers to operate more efficiently and effectively. This includes enterprise visibility and control of smart appliances and energy management programmes.
