California-based Brilliant NextGen has introduced a subscription service that transforms its smart home control system into a fully managed and automated smart home experience.
Built on top of its hardware platform, the service is designed for homeowners who want the benefits of a smart home without the complexity of configuring, managing and maintaining one. Called Brilliant Max, it delivers intelligent automation through pre-configured modes, continuous optimisation across connected devices, support, hardware upgrade opportunities and exclusive subscriber benefits including a free smart home sensor. Modes automate common scenarios and orchestrate them across smart home devices.
“Consumers don’t want another system to manage, they want a home that simply works for them,” said Jonathan Temlock, CEO of Brilliant NextGen (www.brilliant.tech). “Our Brilliant Max service represents the next evolution of the smart home. Instead of spending time creating automations, troubleshooting devices or managing multiple apps, homeowners can enjoy a home that intelligently adapts to their lifestyle from day one. This is about delivering convenience, peace of mind and a smarter experience that continuously improves over time.”
While smart home technology has become increasingly popular, many homeowners struggle to realise its full value. Complex setup processes, fragmented ecosystems, unreliable automations and ongoing maintenance requirements often lead to frustration and underused systems.
This service addresses these problems by delivering a set-it-and-forget-it experience that uses intelligent modes that automatically manages the home. The first set of modes released are: away mode that automatically adjusts home systems and enhances security when residents leave; and vacation mode that secures and manages the home during extended absences.
The second set of modes will be: home mode that optimises comfort and energy efficiency while occupants are home; and night mode nested within home mode to prepare the home for sleep with customised comfort and energy-saving settings.
These pre-configured modes eliminate the need for homeowners to build and maintain complex automation routines while ensuring devices work together as a unified ecosystem.
Every subscription includes a Shelly Bluetooth door and window sensor, extending the system’s awareness of occupancy, movement and entry activity throughout the home. These sensors can be added separately to enhance monitoring capabilities. Subscribers can also add sensors to expand coverage and unlock more advanced automation scenarios.
The service delivers intelligent, pre-configured automation, continuous optimisation of connected devices, proactive notifications and enhanced remote awareness of home activity.
Combining automation, monitoring and ongoing system optimisation results is a smart home that seamlessly adapts to daily routines, saving time, eliminating complexity and increasing the value of connected devices.
“Brilliant Max delivers a noticeably more intelligent smart home experience, said Jentry P, a Brilliant Max beta tester and user since 2021. “The controls, responsiveness and seamless integration across my devices made it a meaningful upgrade that continues to provide comfort, convenience and peace of mind daily.”
Brilliant Max (www.brilliant.tech/pages/brilliant-max) also creates benefits for professional installers, integrators, electricians and security dealers by transforming a one-time hardware project into an ongoing customer relationship. Smart home professionals can now offer a premium managed service that increases project value, generates recurring revenue, reduces post-install support requirements and delivers stronger long-term customer outcomes.
“Smart home professionals have been searching for ways to build recurring revenue while improving customer satisfaction,” said Temlock. “This service allows our partners to deliver a premium experience that works automatically from day one while creating long-term value for both the homeowner and themselves.”
