IoT provider Ayla Networks has launched a full-stack video services platform allowing smart home brands to integrate camera and video capabilities into their connected device ecosystems. The platform is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Kinesis Video Streams.

The service provides a device connectivity SDK, mobile application development tools, and cloud infrastructure for live streaming and recording. It also includes integrated subscription management and payment processing via Stripe, allowing manufacturers to monetise cloud storage features through recurring revenue models.

Ayla currently manages more than 15 million activated devices for 60 global brands. The new video platform is designed to handle data security for both live RTC-based streaming and stored cloud footage. Brands can use Ayla’s existing original design manufacturer (ODM) relationships or apply the software to their own hardware.

“Using Ayla video services, brands can confidently launch connected cameras that drive subscriptions and deepen customer relationships,” said John Grady, CEO of Ayla Networks.

The platform supports flexible cloud recording tiers, allowing brands to set custom pricing or use industry benchmarks. The launch extends Ayla’s existing IoT managed services, which handle infrastructure, security, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for consumer electronics.
