Danish wireless mesh firm NeoCortec has published a whitepaper about NeoMesh using LoRa modulation as its physical layer.

NeoMesh is a low-power bi-directional wireless mesh networking protocol stack. The whitepaper looks at NeoMesh using LoRa modulation as its physical layer. It explains in detail the combined approach about NeoMesh using LoRa modulation and which advantages this approach can bring to IoT deployments.

NeoMesh provides a fully decentralised, self-healing, low-power mesh network capable of supporting thousands of nodes without complex installation or reliance on mains-powered routers. LoRa delivers long-range communication and immunity to noise and interference. Together they can create a wireless system with strong performance across a broader range of environments than either technology can address alone.

As IoT deployments today frequently span thousands of sensors distributed across difficult environments – underground, across farms and forests, throughout industrial facilities, or inside large buildings – the approach of NeoMesh using LoRa modulation as its physical layer offers many benefits.

NeoCortec (www.neocortec.com) was founded in 2007 with the aim of developing and patenting several innovations related to wireless sensor networks. The main product is NeoMesh. NeoMesh is a wireless communication protocol to be embedded in smart devices to enable communication between the devices as well as to the cloud. It is built from scratch to overcome some of the limitations of Zigbee, Zwave, Bluetooth and Thread. These include scalability in number of devices, range and power consumption.
