Spanish 5G NTN IoT satellite telecoms firm Sateliot is incorporating Uarx Space’s separation ring for the in-orbit deployment of its 5G Tritó satellite.

These mechanisms keep satellites attached to the rocket during launch, withstanding vibrations, accelerations and temperature changes. They are also essential to ensure satellites are released from the rocket in a controlled and safe manner, thus reaching orbit safely and successfully.

Specifically, Uarx Space will supply separation rings designed for missions requiring precision and reliability in in-orbit release and capable of working with payloads of up to 1000kg.

This collaboration strengthens the capacity of the Spanish and European space ecosystem to integrate mission-critical technologies and gain traction in the global market, in a context of deploying new generations of satellites and expanding global connectivity services.

Sateliot’s Tritó satellites represent a qualitative leap in capability and performance thanks to the higher operational power of its payload. Not only will they be able to provide connectivity to IoT devices, but they will also be capable of connecting mobile phones with data, voice and video services. In addition, they incorporate dual-use capability, which will make it possible to deploy critical applications in security, civil protection and defence.

“Uarx Space’s participation in our next deployment phase reinforces our commitment to high-quality European partners,” said Marco Guadalupi, CTO of Sateliot. “Their technology fits our needs and allows us to move forward confidently in expanding our constellation of hundreds of satellites.”

Andrés Villa, CTO of Uarx Space, added: “Collaborating with Sateliot and contributing to the growth of a constellation that is transforming global access to connectivity represents an important recognition of the maturity and reliability of our separation systems.”

Sateliot (sateliot.space) is a European satellite telecommunications company headquartered in Barcelona. Founded in 2017, it has a team of over one hundred professionals of different nationalities and operates the first European 5G satellite centre, where it develops the Tritó satellites, capable of connecting mobile phones with data, voice and video services.

Uarx Space (www.uarx.com) develops space transportation technology and in-orbit logistics. The firm is preparing the launch of Ossie, Spain’s first orbital transfer vehicle powered by green propulsion, which will enable precise insertion of satellites into target orbits and optimise future launch operations.
