Telit Cinterion multiconstellation GNSS module for IoT

Telit Cinterion has launched the SE869eK2L, a single-frequency L1 GNSS module designed for IoT and industrial applications. The module is intended to provide a migration path for manufacturers using legacy positioning designs while maintaining a standard 12.2 x 16 mm footprint.

The SE869eK2L is built on the Airoha AG3352 platform and supports multiple satellite constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. It provides positioning accuracy of approximately 1.5 metres and supports update rates of up to 10 Hz. The hardware is available in 1.8 V and 3.3 V variants to accommodate different system architectures.

The module is pin-to-pin compatible with Telit Cinterion’s SL869L-V2 and legacy xL869 modules, allowing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to update existing designs without significant hardware changes. The unit includes reserved pins for future functional expansions and supports Windows Location Services through dedicated firmware.

Target applications for the module include asset tracking, fleet management, smart infrastructure, and cell tower synchronisation. It also features a Wi-Fi navigation mode to assist Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 routers in complying with Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) requirements. For timing applications, the module delivers a synchronisation output with ±7 ns jitter.

“The SE869eK2L drops into existing footprints and delivers multiconstellation performance,” said Eric Lagorce, global head of GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technology solutions at Telit Cinterion. He added that the module allows engineering teams to manage legacy product transitions with more flexibility.

Samples of the SE869eK2L are scheduled for release in mid-2026. Telit Cinterion expects to begin mass production of the module in the fourth quarter of 2026.
