5G satellite connectivity operator Sateliot has launched a Series C financing round to raise €100 million. The capital will be used to deploy 16 satellites to complete the company’s IoT constellation and demonstrate 5G New Radio technology for voice and data.
The funding round is primarily structured as equity, with the potential for a debt component. Sateliot expects to close the round by the summer of 2026 and anticipates up to 50% public co-financing through match funding. The company has already launched six satellites and plans to launch five more during 2026.
Sateliot reported precontracts valued at €270 million from more than 400 clients in 60 countries. It has also established agreements with major telecommunications operators, including Telefónica and Deutsche Telekom. The company’s technology uses the 3GPP Release 17 standard, allowing standard NB-IoT devices to connect directly to satellites.
Jaume Sanpera, CEO of Sateliot, said: “This Series C reflects the company’s scale and timing. It is the largest round we have opened to date. With it, we will accelerate the deployment of our constellation and commercial execution on a global scale. We trust in the support of industrial, financial, and institutional investors to consolidate a European 5G satellite connectivity infrastructure.”
Since its inception in 2018, the company has raised nearly €100 million from investors including Indra, Cellnex, and Banco Santander. The Spanish government, through the Minister for Digital Transformation, expressed support for the project, noting that the company has doubled its workforce over the past year.
