Satellite IoT connectivity provider Myriota has launched eight satellites to support its space-based UltraLite IoT network.

Through the Australian company’s partnership with Spire Global, the satellites were launched aboard SpaceX’s Twilight mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The launch delivers an uplift in performance, capacity and resilience across Myriota’s UltraLite network, improving message delivery speed and reliability for users operating in more than 57 countries.

In a continuation of its mission to deliver the most resilient satellite network infrastructure available, this launch sees Myriota further expand its IoT network with Spire (spire.com). The satellites are optimised to host and operate Myriota’s technology on orbit. This approach has enabled Myriota to achieve rapid, cost-effective expansion while maintaining the security, efficiency and reliability required for large-scale IoT deployments.

“Bringing these satellites into this new orbit delivers tangible benefits for our customers,” said Paul Alexander, chief network officer at Myriota. “Message delivery will be faster and more reliable, establishing a new level of UltraLite network performance and reinforcing our commitment to scalable, resilient and secure IoT connectivity.”

The expanded network (myriota.com/myriota-ultralite/) supports applications across agriculture, water management, logistics, and solar, flood and environmental monitoring, enabling organisations to connect devices and assets globally with low power and operating costs.

Over the past decade, the company has built an expanding satellite constellation, secured a portfolio of over 170 patents, and raised more than $100m in funding. It now delivers the IoT foundations that underpin critical operations across agriculture, utilities, logistics, mining, environmental monitoring and defence.

Myriota (myriota.com) helps systems integrators, providers and OEMs develop and deploy connected products that sense, track and monitor assets even in the most remote environments. With teams across 19 global locations and partnerships in key markets, Myriota says it remains focused on its mission to connect the physical world for impact.
