GXC, a provider of private mesh networks as a service, has joined the IoT M2M Council (IMC) to increase awareness of how private cellular networks power business critical connectivity.
Private networks have become increasingly popular for managing IoT devices within an enterprise, and GXC maintains that a mesh architecture makes it easier and faster to deploy these networks with full cellular coverage and capacity.
The IMC’s rank-and-file adopter membership is comprised of 25,000 enterprise users and product makers that use private networks broadly.
“We want IoT adopters to know that private, 5G mesh networks can greatly enhance data management, network performance, backbone integration and security,” said Allen Proithis, GXC’s CEO, who will represent the company on the IMC board of governors, “We look at the IMC as a key partner in providing thought leadership, lead generation, promotion and research.”
The company introduced its Onyx architecture in June and has since won Frost & Sullivan’s 2022 North America Enabling Technology Leadership Award for 5G private networks for its versatile technology. In addition to easing integration with the full applications stack, the mesh network allows for hybrid cloud integration and indoor and outdoor deployment.
This suits the IMC’s adopter membership well, since the group is comprised of 27 different vertical markets, from automotive manufacturing to retail point-of-sale to energy utilities to healthcare services. Roughly a fifth of IMC adopters are based in North America, with the rest dispersed around the globe.
“As security concerns become more of a factor for the future of our connected planet, enterprise users are increasingly recognising private networks as an option to support business-critical applications, so we welcome GXC to the IMC board and our family of providers,” said Romil Bahl, IMC chairman and CEO of IoT company KORE. “We look forward to hearing more about their technology.”
The IMC is the largest trade group dedicated to the global IoT and M2M sector. Board companies include 1NCE, A1 Digital, Aeris, Airgain, Astrocast, BICS, Blues Wireless, Digi International, eSat Global, Fibocom, FloLive, Ground Control, Gurtam, GXC, iBasis, Ignion, IoT Launch, Keyfactor, KORE, KYOCERA AVX, Losant, Microsoft Azure, MultiTech, Pelion, Pod Group, Quectel, Sateliot, Somos, Tata Communications, Telit, Utimaco and Vodafone.
