Italian wireless module manufacturer Embit is licensing NeoCortec’s NeoMesh software to offer customised modules with an integrated wireless protocol stack that leverages low power consumption and scalability.

Danish firm NeoCortec makes a low-power bi-directional wireless mesh networking protocol stack.

“After initially partnering with NeoCortec on the development of our first 2.4GHz LoRa module using the NeoMesh software stack – and subsequently the dual-band (sub-GHz/2.4GHz) embedded LoRa-enabled NeoMesh wireless network module and LoRaWan stack – we are now excited to be able to provide fully customised products using NeoMesh,” said Fabio Bonizzi, CEO at Embit (www.embit.eu). “This offers our customers a significant competitive advantage through improved efficiency and flexibility.”

Thomas Steen Halkier, CEO at NeoCortec, added: “We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Embit. We are delighted that they have fully embraced our NeoMesh technology and are now able to offer customised options with NeoMesh across their whole product range.”

NeoCortec (www.neocortec.com) was founded in 2007 with the aim of developing and patenting several innovations related to wireless sensor networks. The main product is NeoMesh, a wireless communication protocol to be embedded in smart devices to enable communications between the devices as well as to the cloud.

NeoMesh (neocortec.com/neomesh-protocol/) was built from scratch to overcome some of the limitations of Zigbee, Zwave, Bluetooth and Thread, such as scalability in number of devices, range and power consumption. The aim is to make non-smart and large buildings smarter. It can be upgraded without cabling, and is available on low-power bi-directional wireless mesh network communication modules as well as on a licence basis on various chipsets.
