The US Department of Transportation (DoT) has asked Texas-based AvaWatz to pilot an AI system for predictive maintenance of vehicle fleets.

The DoT selected AvaWatz’s AI technology to demonstrate capabilities in maintaining transportation fleets, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vital transportation assets across the USA’s infrastructure network.

This contract represents an expansion of AvaWatz’s AI technology into the rapidly growing predictive maintenance sector, validating the scalability and relevance of the company’s products in more critical domains.

This pilot leverages AvaWatz’s proprietary Haya platform (avawatz.com/application/haya), powered by a learning system to monitor vehicle health, identify anomalies and predict failures before they occur. By enabling earlier intervention, this is expected to reduce costly breakdowns, extend vehicle lifecycles, and improve fleet reliability and operator safety.

“Winning this contract with the Department of Transportation validates the flexibility of our trusted AI platform to address mission-critical challenges beyond defence and homeland security,” said Rajini Anachi, CEO of AvaWatz. “Predictive maintenance represents a massive opportunity, as fleet operators across commercial transportation, logistics and government face escalating costs from downtime, unexpected failures, supply chain disruptions and resource management. Our product can help unlock billions in potential savings and efficiencies.”

With advancements in AI and ML technologies along with IoT hardware, the global vehicle predictive maintenance market is rapidly growing, driven by the need for smarter fleet management across logistics, transit, defence and infrastructure. By piloting with the DoT, AvaWatz is positioned to scale into this rapidly expanding sector, offering dual-use products that serve public and private markets.

This contract follows AvaWatz’s recent success with the US Department of Homeland Security, where the company was awarded a phase II contract for its Genie product line (avawatz.com/platform/genie). This award expands its portfolio of federally backed innovations, reinforcing its position as a partner in deploying AI that meets high-stakes operational demands while opening new growth channels for investors and partners.
