Skylark detects debris on Indian airport runway

California-based Skylark Labs has deployed its fixed foreign object debris (FOD) detection system at a major commercial airport in India, providing continuous, autonomous runway monitoring without the operational constraints of mobile vehicle patrols.

Commercial aviation operators face a problem: every second of runway downtime costs money, and debris cannot be tolerated. Unlike mobile FOD detection that requires vehicle patrols and operator availability, Skylark’s fixed detection system operates round-the-clock autonomously, monitoring runways continuously with zero operational interruption.
