Iveda expands AI platform to manage intersections

Arizona-based smart city firm Iveda has introduced a traffic management module to expand its IvedaAI platform into real-time intersection monitoring, traffic optimisation and automated road safety analytics.
The launch comes as Iveda is engaging with multiple American cities and transportation agencies for traffic and mobility pilot deployments in 2026, positioning traffic management as a growth opportunity within the company’s smart city roadmap. Iveda’s reseller network has already expressed enthusiasm for bringing this capability to their municipal and transportation customers.
“Imagine all the cameras you already see above intersections across America,” said David Ly, CEO of Iveda. “Today, most are limited to basic signal optimisation. With IvedaAI, those same cameras can instantly become tools for smarter traffic flow, faster alerts and safer streets without requiring cities to replace infrastructure. That simplicity is where the value is.”
Traffic management represents a major smart infrastructure opportunity. The intelligent traffic management systems market (www.grandviewresearch.com/horizon/outlook/intelligent-traffic-management-system-market-size/global) is projected to grow to nearly $28bn by 2030, as cities accelerate adoption of AI-driven transportation technology.
Cities face growing pressure to reduce congestion, improve emergency response times and enhance roadway safety, all while operating under constrained infrastructure budgets. Traditional traffic monitoring methods often depend on embedded road sensors, manual traffic studies or specialised hardware systems that are costly to deploy, disruptive to install and expensive to maintain over time.
Modern intersections across major US cities are already equipped with video-based traffic detection infrastructure deployed for signal optimisation. With the traffic management module, cities can extend these existing assets beyond basic signal control into real-time situational awareness, traffic analytics and event detection, increasing prior investments without requiring new infrastructure.
Through software alone, IvedaAI (iveda.com/technology/ivedaai/) delivers intersection intelligence through existing camera infrastructure, helping cities avoid costly upgrades while gaining immediate operational and safety benefits. Through easy to use, scalable software, the module provides real-time vehicle counting, speed monitoring, congestion insights and automated detection of dangerous events such as red-light violations and roadway collisions all on a digital-twin style interface.
This launch represents a step in the ongoing productisation of IvedaAI’s broad AI video intelligence capabilities. While IvedaAI has long served as a flexible platform capable of supporting smart city and security applications, the traffic management module marks one of the company’s first dedicated, packaged options designed specifically for a single high-demand vertical.
“This is one of the clearest RoI use cases in smart cities,” said Ly. “Instead of costly rebuilds, cities can enhance what they already own. We believe traffic management will become one of the next major adoption engines for IvedaAI, with meaningful revenue potential in the USA and internationally. Set-up is as easy as a few clicks to create a digital twin of an intersection. At roughly $20,000 per intersection, it doesn’t get simpler or more cost-effective than this: instant safety gains, faster emergency response, and smart traffic insights all without new infrastructure.”
Iveda (iveda.com) is headquartered in Mesa, Arizona, with a subsidiary in Taiwan.
