Zinkteknik has selected Rockwell Automation’s Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform to manage its new production facility in Monterrey, Mexico. The Swedish automotive manufacturer will use the cloud-based system to standardise operations and provide real-time visibility across its zinc die-casting processes.

The deployment includes a manufacturing execution system (MES), quality management system (QMS), and electronic data interchange (EDI). These tools are designed to track work in progress and material movement while embedding quality checks directly into production workflows. The platform also provides analytics dashboards to monitor performance metrics.

Zinkteknik specialises in high-volume components for the automotive and electronics sectors. The company intends to use the platform as a digital foundation for future global expansion. The implementation is being managed in partnership with Cumulus, a systems integrator within Rockwell’s network.

“Zinkteknik wanted a platform that could support a new greenfield operation, deliver immediate visibility and quality control and scale globally over time,” said Sarah Dana, Director of Enterprise Software Sales for Northern Europe at Rockwell Automation.

The Plex system serves as a single integrated record for people, machines, and processes. By moving to a cloud-native platform, Zinkteknik aims to reduce manual data entry and improve accuracy as it ramps up production at the Mexican site.
