Digital fabrication company xTool has launched the X1 desktop laser platform, combining gantry movement and galvo scanning into a single system for commercial manufacturing applications.
The X1 utilises a four-axis coordinated motion architecture, termed Hybrid Motion, which synchronises a traditional gantry with a flying-galvo system. This allows the machine to achieve processing speeds of up to 6,000 millimetres per second across a wide-format working area. The baseline unit houses a 55W CO2 laser alongside a 20W diode laser.
The platform features a modular optical path that supports upgrades to 30W Fibre, 60W MOPA, and 5W UV laser modules. The machine’s chassis is constructed from a 4,000-ton high-pressure die-cast aluminium alloy, replacing nearly 100 assembled parts with three monolithic structures to ensure thermal stability and precision under continuous use.
The hardware is integrated with the company’s proprietary software suite, which automates material parameters and provides real-time mockup previews to reduce material waste during production setup.
xTool’s software serves as a digital engine across its hardware portfolio, driving cross-device synergy for small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses, stated xTool US General Manager Stein Shi.
