Vention, Teradyne Robotics cobot digital twin

Vention and Teradyne Robotics are collaborating to create a digital twin design platform specifically for Universal Robots (UR) robotic cells. The initiative integrates Vention’s MachineBuilder software with Teradyne’s collaborative robots to streamline the design and deployment of modular automation.

The platform allows manufacturers to design, program, and simulate robotic work cells in a unified digital environment. It includes a dedicated interface pre-loaded with technical specifications for the entire UR cobot line. This enables users to validate robot reach and modular framing before physical assembly begins.

Key features include an automation marketplace for vetted components and a library of validated templates for common applications such as machine tending, pick-and-place, and end-of-line solutions. The system also incorporates AI-driven bin picking capabilities powered by the NVIDIA Isaac platform.

The collaboration is initially rolling out across North America and Europe. It aims to reduce the trial-and-error phase of automation by providing high-fidelity 3D simulations that reflect real-world kinematics. The partners stated this approach shortens the time to value for manufacturers adopting robotic technology.
