IoT tech provider Semtech has introduced two new AirLink 5G RedCap routers. The RX400 and EX400 models are designed to provide future-proof and energy-efficient 5G connectivity in industrial IoT applications.

The new routers consume less than 1 watt of power when idle, enabling deployments in remote locations previously served by existing LTE networks or more costly traditional 5G solutions.

Both models are designed to deliver throughput and low latency necessary for IoT applications and feature a 2×2 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna configuration to simplify integration into existing and new deployments.

The AirLink RX400 is designed for outdoor environments with a rugged IP64 and MIL-STD-810H design, while the EX400 features a semi-rugged design for use in commercial IoT applications. Both routers support 5G RedCap performance and LTE Cat-4 connectivity.

Semtech’s AirLink Complete service provides network management capabilities, including hardware warranty, 24/7 support, and remote management through the cloud-based AirLink Management Service (ALMS) platform.
