Quectel Wireless Solutions has launched a series of three computing modules designed to process data locally on industrial equipment, providing manufacturers with scalable hardware for factory floor applications.

Built on MediaTek’s Genio platform, the SH503FM, SH603FC, and SH803FD modules feature octa-core Arm processors and dedicated neural processing units. The hardware is designed without integrated cellular connectivity, allowing industrial operators to choose their own networking solutions while reducing certification costs and hardware complexity.

The modules are qualified for industrial-grade use and target applications such as edge computing equipment, industrial smart tablets, robotics, and multi-camera factory vision systems. The hardware supports both Android 15 and Yocto Linux operating systems and integrates up to 16 gigabytes of memory.

“These three modules give our customers a single, trusted platform to scale from straightforward connected displays through to demanding edge AI applications,” said Raymond Wang, product head for smart modules at Quectel. “The Genio-based family means they don’t have to redesign around a new architecture every time their requirements change.”

The product line spans three performance tiers to accommodate different industrial requirements. The SH503FM provides 7.2 tera operations per second (TOPS) for basic human-machine interfaces, while the mid-tier SH603FC delivers 10.3 TOPS for edge computing boxes. The high-end SH803FD offers 10.5 TOPS and dual-camera support for complex robotics and multi-camera edge computing workloads.
