Omron Automation has introduced the M1 Inverter family, providing a scalable AC motor control platform for industrial machinery builders.

The inverter platform is designed to control motor speed, torque, and positioning in applications such as material handling, packaging, and compressor systems. It supports multiple industrial communication protocols, including EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and RS-485, allowing integration across various automation environments.

The M1 family integrates directly with Omron’s Sysmac automation platform. Through native EtherCAT connectivity and support for Fail Safe over EtherCAT (FSoE), the system allows manufacturers to manage motion control, networking, and safety protocols within a single unified architecture.

The hardware incorporates SIL3 PLe Safe Torque Off (STO) functionality. By embedding this safety feature directly into the inverter, manufacturers can reduce external wiring and conserve control panel space. The platform is compatible with a broad range of motor types, enabling facilities to standardise their inverter hardware across multiple machine designs.
