Robotic LiDAR perception sensor provider MorpheusTEK has launched its first all-solid-state LiDAR, the VSS-50 model and announced a partnership with SINTRONES Technology, a provider of rugged industrial and edge AI computing solutions.

The partnership between MorpheusTEK and SINTRONES Technology will allow customers to access modular computing platforms that power real-time decision-making at the edge. These platforms are designed for mission-critical applications in industrial automation, robotics, transportation, defence, and healthcare.

The VSS-50 LiDAR features a 120° x 50° field of view, detects targets at up to 30 metres with 10% reflectivity, and can operate in environments with up to 100,000 lux ambient light. It has an IP67-rated all-metal housing and provides high-definition point cloud data.

MorpheusTEK’s CEO, Phil Hennessy, commented on the launch and partnership: “The VSS-50 is a high-performance LiDAR that provides reliable 3D perception in demanding environments. Our partnership with SINTRONES Technology will enable customers to access robust edge compute devices for various verticals.”
