Automation equipment specialist MMC has launched a factory automation platform. The ICONect Smart Factory Platform provides a real-time production orchestration engine, and integrates with both MMC and third-party equipment.

A subsidiary of TekniPlex, Montreal-based MMC is an automation equipment manufacturer specialising in cap lining, slitting/folding, assembling and closing systems. The company also develops and sells vision systems and custom automation equipment, with customers in the industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and personal sectors.

ICONect provides manufacturers with tools to optimise operations, streamline workflows, and make faster decisions. It incorporates real-time analytics, simplified recipe management, and a dashboard that includes access to the MMC AI Troubleshooting Chatbot.

“ICONect represents a significant leap forward in how clients can leverage machine data to optimise production,” said Krystel Staniforth, General Manager of MMC. “With ICONect, managers can respond to complex production requirements more efficiently and anticipate future challenges with greater agility.”

“One of the features we are most excited about is Energy Monitoring,” said Patrice Massicotte, Operations Director at MMC. “It gives clients the same up-to-the-minute insights on power usage as they get from their production data—helping them achieve both cost savings and sustainability targets.”
